Tajweed Trainer is a free, browser-based tool that helps Muslims of all ages practise reciting the Holy Quran with correct Tajweed. As you recite into your microphone, the app highlights each word in colour — green for correct, amber where you need more work, and red for mistakes — so you can see exactly where your recitation can improve. After each verse you receive instant, personalised feedback along with a score and star rating.
Choose your level, pick a surah, listen to the reference recitation from a renowned Qari, then record your own recitation. The trainer compares your recitation word by word and shows a clear visual breakdown of your performance. You can repeat any verse as many times as you like, and the more you practise the more confident your recitation becomes.
You can practise a single verse at a time, or use Ayat by Ayat mode to recite an entire surah in sequence and receive a complete summary of your performance at the end.
The trainer currently covers Surah Al-Fatiha together with the short surahs of Juz Amma (the 30th part of the Quran) — the surahs most Muslims learn and recite first. These include Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas, Al-Kawthar, Al-Asr, Al-Fil, Quraysh, Al-Ma'un, Al-Kafirun, An-Nasr, Al-Masad, Al-Qadr, Az-Zalzalah, Al-Qari'ah, At-Takathur and Al-Humazah. Reference recitation is available from celebrated reciters including Mishary Alafasy, Abdul Basit and Mahmoud Husary.
Tajweed Trainer is designed for children and adults learning to recite the Quran, students attending madrasa or Quran classes, parents helping their children memorise Juz Amma, and anyone wishing to improve the beauty and accuracy of their recitation. It works best in the Google Chrome browser and requires microphone access to score your recitation.
